Hongdo Do completed the Biomedical Science course at Adelaide University and was awarded his PhD in Genetic and Epigenetic Biomarkers in Lung Cancer from Melbourne University in 2011. He undertook further postdoctoral training at three research institutes; Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, and Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute. He also worked as Quality Manager for operation of a molecular laboratory under the ISO 15189 and ISO 17025 standards at Olivia Newton-John Cancer Centre. He has expertise in various molecular techniques for detection of genetic and epigenetic biomarkers in cancer, and is experienced in developing, validating, and introducing new molecular tests in compliance with ISO standards. Hongdo joined the molecular team at SVHM in 2019 and is enthusiastic about further developing the molecular testing service and training molecular scientists.
