Areas of interest: Soft tissue pathology, neuropathology, medical renal pathology and pulmonary pathology

Dr Kanaan graduated from medical school in 2010 and did his internship and residency at Ballarat Base Hospital before pursuing his career in Anatomical Pathology. He was trained in several tertiary and major hospitals including The Royal Adelaide Hospital, Flinders Medical Centre, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, The Lyell McEwin Hospital, The Women and Children Hospital, Forensic Centre SA and Australian Clinical Labs. He finished his Anatomical Pathology training with a fellowship in medical renal and neuropathology at the Royal Melbourne hospital.

Dr Kanaan has a special interest in soft tissue pathology, neuropathology, medical renal pathology and pulmonary pathology. He is heavily involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate pathology teaching. Dr Kanaan is passionate about online pathology education; he is currently the coordinator and the main provider of the RCPA endorsed online anatomical pathology teaching program. He is also a tutor at Melbourne Medical School.
