Dr Edwin Tan graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2008 and commenced anatomical pathology training in Queensland in 2013, rotating through major public hospitals which included the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, The Princess Alexandria Hospital, Mater Hospital, The Prince Charles Hospital and Gold Coast University Hospital.

He was awarded his FRCPA in 2018 and worked at the Townsville University Hospital reporting a broad range of pathology. His main area of interest is dermatopathology with a special interest in cutaneous lymphoma and alopecia. He joined IQ Pathology to subspecialise in this field and was the first person in Queensland to be awarded the RCPA Post Fellowship Diploma in Dermatopathology. He has spent time with Professor Richard Scolyer at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Melanoma Institute Australia and A/Prof Benjamin Wood at PathWest. Edwin is an active speaker, presenter and member of the International Academy of Pathology, Australasian Dermatopathology Society and American Society of Dermatopathology. He is also a member of the Asian Society of Dermatopathology. He joined St Vincent’s pathology in 2023 to develop his other areas of interest which includes ocular, soft tissue and haematolymphoid pathology.
