Prue, a graduate from the University of Melbourne, commenced her training in Anatomical Pathology at Hammersmith Hospital, London and completed her training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in 1983. She attained her PhD from the University of Melbourne on “Human and Experimental Toxemia of Pregnancy” in 1982. She became a Founding Fellow of the Faculty of Science RCPA in 2010. She has been a Senior Pathologist at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne since 1994 and was appointed an Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne in 2002.
Prue specialises in Kidney and Breast Pathology and has been the coordinating pathologist for St Vincent’s BreastScreen since 2000. She has been on a panel of pathologists involved in developing new International Consensus Classifications of Lupus Nephritis and IgA nephropathy and has published more than 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals. She continues to collaborate in research projects in the fields of kidney and breast pathology.
Prue has been a Visiting Professor at the University of Vienna in 1997, Mario Negri Institue, Bergamo, Itali in 2004 and Hospital Tenon in Paris in 2011.
