Pathology Information Technology provides specialized front-line support, monitoring and maintenance of the pathology laboratory information system.

The department of Pathology has extremely high data throughput requirements and is heavily dependent on information systems for its' efficient and effective running and timely delivery of results.  Tasks we perform include:

• Front-line software and hardware support for more than 140 users within Pathology.
• Service support to clients within St. Vincent's Hospital and numerous external clients.
• Consultation with Pathology management, medical staff and scientists to affect efficiency gains by on-going laboratory system reviews.
• Research and clinical trial set-up and support.
• Integral laboratory instrument interfacing.
• Prompt and appropriate report distribution.
• Monitoring and enhancement of all the pathology-related accounting functions.
• Professional liaison with Kestral (software provider) and St. Vincent's Information Services.
• In-house training.
