Anatomical Pathology

Our Pathologists

Dealing with the minute structure, composition and function of tissues.  The specimens examined are pieces of body tissue removed by Clinicians.  The sample is then sent to the laboratory preserved in formalin or fresh on ice.

Sections of the tissue are processed in special solutions and then embedded in paraffin wax to allow for the laboratory staff to cut it into very thin sections.  These sections are mounted on glass slides, stained and then examined by the Pathologist.

Our laboratory is committed to providing the most comprehensive range of diagnostic services.  The lab is NATA and RCPA accredited.  Our consultants are specialists in a wide range of histopathology and cytopathology investigations.
